Frequently asked questions
What’s included in every recording session at Gotham?
Each booking includes:
- Studio rental and professional audio recording
- Microphones for up to four speakers
- Headphones
- A Gotham engineer to start/stop the recording
- Audio processing
- File delivery within 24 hours
If you select Multitrack during booking, you’ll receive separate audio tracks for each speaker. Otherwise, we provide a professionally mixed, summed file.
How do I book, cancel, or reschedule a session?
To make changes to your booking, you’ll Log In to your account on the Gotham x Podyx site. Click the Home Button on the top right-hand side of the screen and select Bookings to make changes. No cancellations, refunds, or reschedules are allowed within 48 hours of your appointment.
What’s the difference between 1080p and 4K/BRAW video?
- 1080p: Standard HD footage at $60/hour per camera.
- 4K/BRAW: Ultra-high resolution footage recorded on Blackmagic cameras at $75/hour per camera.
For 4K/BRAW sessions, you must bring your own Sandisk 1TB or 2TB Extreme Pro drives—one per camera. Drives are available for purchase onsite ($180/each).
What is Engineer+ and when should I select it?
Engineer+ is ideal if you:
- Need hands-on technical support throughout your session
- Are recording multiple episodes back-to-back
Without Engineer+, a Gotham team member will start/stop your session and deliver the files.
What is Multitrack and do I need it?
Multitrack gives you separate audio files for each speaker. This allows for more flexibility in post-production (editing volume, clarity, noise, etc.).
To receive Multitrack files, be sure to select this option during booking ($10/hour). Otherwise, you’ll receive a summed stereo file.
What is your studio capacity?
- Empire Studio – Best for 3–4 people
- Chrysler Studio – Best for 2–3 people
- Liberty Studio – Best for 2–3 people
